Although things have calmed down somewhat in the strategically important city of Mykolaiv (in the south of Ukraine), there are still regular alerts and rocket attacks on civilian targets.
The hospitals are overloaded and the war shows no mercy. Thanks to our very good contacts in the international Johanniter network, we received a call for help for urgently needed medical equipment for Mykolaiv, especially for the children's hospital.
A few days ago, our fully packed lorry arrived in Mykolaiv and most of the relief supplies were taken directly to the children's hospital. Doctors and nursing staff were overjoyed at this support. It also fills us with joy to see that our help is getting through. Our partners in Ukraine have confirmed the safe arrival: ‘Thank you very much once again for your support. All relief supplies have been distributed in close coordination with the respective organisations in Mykolaiv. We are all very grateful for your generous support. This aid is making a significant difference to the lives of many people and we are deeply grateful for your swift support".
Special thanks also go to all the donors of money and materials who made this transport possible.
