High-ranking visitor at the Embrach central warehouse

At the end of October 2025, Grand Hospitaller Dr. Josef Blotz visited the Swiss Association of the Order of Malta on the occasion of the 20th Zurich Charity Event in support of the Holy Family Hospital in Bethlehem. In his role, Josef Blotz is responsible for all of the Order's charitable, humanitarian, and medical activities worldwide.

Josef Blotz also had the opportunity to visit the Johanniter-Malteser Foundation Aide & Assistance at its warehouse near Zurich. For many years, the two sister orders have been working together to collect and send extensive aid shipments to recipients in Ukraine, Chile, Senegal, and many other countries. This time, a total of 22 hospital beds, 13 nursing beds, 35 mattresses, 29 bedside tables, 46 linen trolleys, 19 tables, and 48 chairs were delivered to Hospital No. 8 in Kyiv.

The transport was carried out in cooperation with "Ukraine Help Berlin," with which the Aide&Assistance Foundation has maintained a successful partnership for two years. The truck has now arrived safely in Ukraine. The visit concluded with a working lunch with the board of the Swiss Association and its president, Martin Graf von Walterskirchen zu Wolfsthal, as well as an information session on the numerous activities of the Swiss Hospital Service (SHOMS) by its commander, Christophe Beaud.
