On June 22/23, 2024, the Order of Malta Switzerland celebrated the annual patron saint's day in honor of Saint John the Baptist. This year the celebration took place in Solothurn and was organized by the Solothurn section of the Malteser Hospital Service (MHdS).
After the extended board of the Swiss Johanniterorden and the Order of Malta Switzerland had previously approved the nominations of the Foundation Council of the Johanniter-Malteser Stiftung Aide & Assistance, the newly appointed Foundation Council was also presented at the celebrations.
The office of President is now held by Daniel Hug (previously Vice-President). Like his predecessor, he sees one of the main focuses of his work as "maintaining and developing the Aide & Assistance network so that we can continue to ensure high-quality aid transports in significant numbers." To this end, the sustainable acquisition of third-party funding is also to be sought in order to be able to finance the growing number of projects in a solid manner.
Andreas Jaross (previously General Manager) was appointed as the new Vice-President and Branco von Hoensbroech was confirmed as the new and previous General Manger. With effect from June 23, 2024, the Foundation Council and the Management Board will be composed as follows:
Daniel Hug (President of the Foundation Council)
Andreas Jaross (Vice-President of the Foundation Council)
Andrea Stopper (Treasurer)
Verena Vorwerk (Member, Hospitaller of the Order of Malta Switzerland)
Thomas Vorwerk (Member, President of the Relief Organization of the Swiss Johanniterorden)
Anna Grabowski (Member of the Foundation Council)
Pascal Lüthi (Member of the Foundation Council)
Branco von Hoensbroech (General Manager).
The previous president, Alessandro Marangoni, who chaired the Aide & Assistance Foundation for 8 years, congratulated the new Foundation Council and at the same time looked back with satisfaction and gratitude: "The goals that I had set for myself have all been achieved, especially the further professionalization of our activities and the associated fundraising," he explained on the occasion of the change of leadership.
